Offering users the ability to configure legacy Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to newer RTU/PLC devices, such as the Modicon RTU 484, AUTOSOL’s Modbus Slave software gives you the versatility you need to find a solution to your compatibility issues.
High performance industry communication software must be adaptable, so legacy and new supervisory equipment can collaborate to pass along and collect data. It must also be configurable to ensure multiple manufacturer devices can reply to one another. This particular Modbus protocol, Modicon RTU 484 uses the memory layout of the 484 models of the original Gould Modicon PLCs, which was the first of its kind on the market.
Due to Modbus Slave’s adaptability, users can arrange it to use the memory layout of the Modicon RTU 584/984 to match your HMI needs.
Field data is transferred to the HMI using the Modicon RTU 484 register set in binary format fashion.
Register Sets in AUTOSOL’s Modbus Slave software, such as the Modicon RTU 484, can be configured and supplementary from the Register Records window by applying multiple options. Users can select Auto Fill to choose between common register sets and fill the current register record with the same data. Modbus Slave can also offer Message Format Flexibility for users to choose between binary, RTU or ASCII formats.
Customers with an existing HMI — which can only utilize Modbus protocol, will often swap out their devices to ones that speak Modbus, which can be an expensive solution to their problem. Users will also use a Modbus slave device, which translates a specific protocol into Modbus at a particular RTU or PLC– a costly option as one device is needed per location.
With AUTOSOL’s Modbus Slave software, users will have a global capability on the translator object, opening doors for optimal versatility and connection.
The Modbus Slave software’s SCADA capabilities include Microsoft Access Database Configuration and Server Status Check and Automatic Reconnect.
