Protocols Supported
DEC Asynchronous Protocols
The Autosol Communication Manager® (ACM) supports the DEC Asynchronous protocol, or Decasync, to enable efficient communication between PLC remote field devices with the technicians and control room operators managing SCADA and Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM) data monitoring systems.
ACM is an OPC server that polls the DEC PLC and then reads and writes these values to a Human Machine Interface (HMI) in a control room. This data is then fed into data measurement tools like Flow-Cal and Quorum PGAS to determine value.
When managing pipelines and other production assets, it is imperative to be able to communicate rapidly with remote monitoring devices. ACM supports a broad range of protocols and the DEC Asynchronous protocol is no exception. AUTOSOL has worked to eliminate the need for multiple communication hubs by creating the ACM which can translate many different protocols from legacy SCADA devices and interfaces with most OPC SCADA hosts available today.
ACM simultaneously and reliably communicates with remote control and measurement products for data acquisition and automated meter reading. The data from these DEC PLC modules can be monitored by the minute or hour, or as often as it is polled. While DEC has both a synchronous and an asynchronous protocol, ACM only supports only the asynchronous mode. It handles current data values and will not archive historical records.
ACM supports the DEC Asynchronous protocol to give remote users PLC control
The focus of AUTOSOL’s software and hardware products are within the SCADA and AMR applications market where systems must monitor and control geographically distributed assets. ACM simplifies the data acquisition process by combining the ability to read several protocols into one device, over a single telemetry channel or circuit. It conveniently supports multiple telemetry circuits through any or all connection types simultaneously.
With our leading software products and communications hardware you will be able to transmit and receive data with your DEC PLC as well as all other SCADA devices. ACM includes protocol modules developed to support legacy SCADA systems used during the extended transition to new SCADA host systems or Data Warehouse Systems.
ACM is FIPS 140-2 Security Level 1 certified using AUTOSOL SSL encryption
