Working to ensure your devices are properly compatible in today’s ever-developing world of Modbus, AUTOSOL’s Modbus Slave software offers users the ability to configure their newer PLC/RTU devices to connect to their legacy HMIs specific modbus needs, including the Modicon ASCII 484 register set.
Today’s important, high performance communication software can be more versatile so that legacy equipment and new monitoring equipment can work in tandem. to serve you and to collect your most important field data. This particular Modbus protocol, the Modicon ASCII 484, uses the memory layout of the 484 models of the original Gould Modicon Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) which was the first PLC to be on the market. Thanks to Modbus Slave’s versatility, you can design it to use the memory layout of the Modicon ASCII 484 to match your HMI needs.
Via a readable ASCII format, field data is transferred to the HMI using the Modicon ASCII 484 register set.
Register Sets in AUTOSOL’s Modbus Slave software — such as the Modicon ASCII 484 – can be added and configured from the Register Records window by taking advantage of other options. Users can select Auto Fill to pick between regularly used register sets and populate the current register record with the same data. Modbus Slave also offers Message Format Flexibility for its users to select between binary, RTU or ASCII formats.
Customers with an existing HMI — which is limited to handling Modbus protocol, sometimes switch their devices to other devices that speak Modbus, which can be a costly answer to their issue. Users may also use a physical Modbus slave, a device which translates a specific protocol into Modbus at a specific PLC or RTU – which is an alternative, but a costly option as one device is required per site.
With AUTOSOL’s Modbus Slave software, users will have a global capability on the translator object, opening doors for optimal connection and versatility. The Modbus Slave software’s SCADA abilities include Microsoft Access Database Configuration and Server Status Check and Automatic Reconnect.
Our software developers can handle almost any version of Modbus. Contact AUTOSOL to setup a time to speak to one of our SCADA experts and setup a demo of our Modbus Slave.
