Protocols Supported
TGP Protocol
In tandem with the Autosol Communication Manager (ACM), the TGP protocol works to deliver customers data from the field of industrial automation and beyond. The protocol works on a select number of PLC devices. The Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) turns digital commands into physical action in the remote field.
ACM works to deliver the most vital information from the field to customers when they need it the most. This delivery process beings with a virtual command from ACM to reach out to the field device in its native protocol for data from that specific device. This data includes polled information that can be stored in the device itself.
That data is then fed back into the control room through its common protocol, Object Link and Embedding for Process Control (OPC), as ACM is an OPC server. Operators will benefit from this device as it delivers reliable data from your most remote locations when paired with ACM.
TGP Protocol and ACM
ACM works to provide a wide range of compatibility to ensure that companies’ legacy devices are never out of date. Acting as a master in the communication, ACM will reach out to the device in its native protocol.
The benefit of using AUTOSOL’s ACM to decipher these protocols ensures that legacy devices can still be used and maintained. Ultimately, the ACM ensures the TGP Protocol can be used in conjunction with other PLC and RTU brands and devices, saving money from having to upgrade to brand new equipment.
AUTOSOL has continuously worked to create custom drivers over the years to meet the needs of client’s by both supporting legacy equipment and new products as they are being developed.
