Autosol Communication Manager (ACM) Features

To operate efficiently, your SCADA system and all metering devices need to be able to communicate. High performance communication software needs to be flexible, so legacy and new equipment can interface to collect and deliver data, and configurable, to ensure a variety of manufacturer devices can respond to each other. Moreover, you need communication software to be easily and immediately implemented to mitigate unacceptable downtime.

ACM is a communications hub that supports remote and local users. It allows both SCADA control and EFM (metering), which use the same network, to prioritize poll commands. Data can be communicated whenever a poll request is issued, and the ACM telemetry hardware is capable of sending data through any connection type simultaneously.

Once the software retrieves the requested data from a remote RTU or PLC, the information can be monitored and stored for validating, accounting or tracking. This feature allows historical data to be retrieved and stored for auditing and analysis for trends. ACM supports the export of data to Flow-Cal gas and liquid CFX and PGAS xml file formats. While most commonly used in oil and natural gas applications, ACM can also be used in alternate fields such as building management, factories/MES and in wastewater.

ACM Saves Time

ACM software includes a diagnostic tool responsible for monitoring the system to reduce downtime in the event of an alarm or issue. Designed to only allow secure connections, those with exclusive permission can access the actionable diagnostics. With local and remote utilization capabilities, technicians can assess a pipeline problem onsite or conveniently from their office. With remote diagnostics, technicians will review pipeline data and come up with a solution, instead of going between sites to determine any issues and plan for fixes, which saves time. Additionally, with the use of mobile devices, on-the-go technicians are constantly connected to the diagnostic data which increases productivity due to the fact that they can remedy issues quicker.

ACM offers remote configuration, where multiple users from various locations can add or remove devices, while still “on-line,” eliminating the need for a restart. The multi-object editing capability allows large quantities of devices to be configured simultaneously, saving time. An audit trail is also provided, tracking configuration changes and who is responsible.

ACM requires a Microsoft SQL Server (or Microsoft Access database) for storing its configuration. • Microsoft SQL Server: 2008R2, 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2017 (using Native Client 11.) • Express, Standard, and Enterprise editions are supported, including Microsoft Azure.
