Announcing the Release of ACM 8.1

AUTOSOL Introduces the Release of AUTOSOL Communication Manager®, ACM 8.1

JULY 28, 2020—Houston, TX—Automation Solutions, LP (AUTOSOL), a premier provider of cutting edge solutions for industrial data delivery and SCADA automation, has announced availability of ACM 8.1, its AUTOSOL Communication Manager® (ACM) software. AUTOSOL’s ACM is a full-featured platform for industrial data communications, enabling multi-protocol polling for both historical and real-time data delivery.

Among new major features included in the software update are a beta release of the ONMI 7000 driver and also an update to the ABB Totalflow driver using the latest features in the Totalflow protocol library. Many features have been added to improve the ACM Configuration experience, new OPC items, Gas Analysis Write Service, and ACM Publishing.

Protocols receiving enhancements include DNP3 and DNP3 FBx, Flow-X, Honeywell Mercury, ROC, Teledyne CA, BSAP, ControlLogix, DF1, Flow Automation, Enron Modbus, OMNI Modbus, Romet-AdEM, Siemens S7, and Totalflow.

AUTOSOL continues to evolve, and the roadmap for ACM includes OPC-UA,  Micro MP3 Support, FLOWCAL Liquid Support, and MQTT Publishing (which is now available for beta testing!)

“We consistently work to develop our software to directly handle our customer’s diverse data collection needs.  Our development is based on actual client feedback and new developments in technology,” said Ken Halprin, Vice President of Development at AUTOSOL. “Many of the new features now available with ACM 8.1 are a direct result of input from our customers, coupled with our client-driven approach to growth.”

Beginning July 2020, ACM will only support Microsoft operating systems and servers that are also still supported by Microsoft.

  • ACM System Requirements:
    • Microsoft Windows: 8.1 and 10 (Anniversary Update or later)
    • Microsoft Windows Server: 2012, 2012 R2, 2016, and 2019
    • Microsoft SQL Server: 2012 SP4 or newer

Beginning June 2021, ACM 7.1 Build 306 and earlier will no longer receive new updates.

Mercury devices already configured in ACM will continue to work using the legacy protocol driver, but updates will no longer be available for it after January 2021.
