Software Developer II

Building upon the foundation laid in the Software Developer I role, the Software Developer II takes on additional responsibilities including solving complex bugs and implementing new features with minimal guidance, providing customer support, and mentoring junior team members. This role requires you gain a deep understanding of at least one area of our product, as well as the ability to estimate project timelines and adhere to schedules.

Software Developer II Key Responsibilities:

  • Write, debug, and maintain high-quality code to meet project requirements and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues independently, ranging from simple bugs to complex technical challenges.
  • Design and implement new features and enhancements to improve the functionality and usability of our products.
  • Provide exceptional customer support, addressing inquiries and issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to facilitate their growth and development.
  • Develop expertise in at least one area of our products, serving as a go-to resource for related tasks and challenges.
  • Learn to accurately estimate project scopes and timelines, and effectively manage workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with business objectives.

Software Developer II Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in software development, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality code and solutions.
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: C++, C#, Python, SQL; and a strong understanding of software development principles and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively as needed.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior developers and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Location

Houston, Texas hybrid preferred.
Remote option for applicants from the following states and provinces: Florida, Louisiana, Texas, and Alberta, Canada.
