Ignition Integrator

Ignition Integrator Role Description:

This is a full-time role for an Ignition Integrator, based in Houston, TX. The candidate will be responsible for architecting, developing, and implementing Ignition projects. Tasks may include pre-sales engineering assistance, design/architecting systems, writing scripts, developing UI/UX, performing technical troubleshooting, and collaborating / mentoring other team members.  The candidate will also be involved in creating and maintaining technical documentation, managing project timelines, and supporting end-users. This role is directed at mid to architect level candidates.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • This role will be involved in all phases of project deployment leading from pre-sales engineering through delivery and long-term support
  • Work within a team of engineers to design, implement, document, and support Ignition SCADA systems and associated third party software (ex: AutoSol Communication Manager)
  • Integrate AUTOSOL software within applicable solutions
  • Configure and validate common industry protocols such as Modbus, OPC, ROC, TotalFlow, ControlLogix, and MQTT
  • Configure and develop SQL databases, tables, procedures, and queries
  • Write and implement scripts to automate and complete tasks
  • Advise on system architectures to deploy for customers based on requirements set forth by the customer
  • Mentor and train internally and externally
  • Clear communication to team members, sales, and customers

    Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience working with Ignition
  • Installation of production and development environments
  • Gateway and project configuration experience
  • Experience developing scripts and UDTs within Ignition
  • Vision and Perspective UI design and deployment
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python / Java
  • Experience with databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL
  • Knowledge of system integration, familiarity with configuration and communication of RTUs, PLCs, and MQTT
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starting and proactive engineering mindset with focus on service
  • Comfort with public speaking and being within a customer facing roles
  • Ability to work on-site in Houston, TX
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry is a plus.
  • Inductive Automation Ignition Core or Gold Certification a plus.
