Pinging is an integral component of your system’s needs. This is where OneSCADA fits.
Remote Ping is used when users are trying to initiate a ping from the actual ACM server when running OneSCADA from your personal machine. This feature is useful when attempting to verify a communication path from the ACM server — even when users are running OneSCADA from a server other than the ACM server.
When utilized, it will:
- First ask users for their credentials to the remote server
- If the credentials are approved
- It will then attempt to ping from the remote server
Continuous Ping allows for the user to set the time between pings, the test duration, the packet size to be sent and the timeout in seconds. The purpose of this test is to verify the connection over a designated range of time to see if there are issues relating connecting to an IP address.
The user can also set the utility to auto exit and to allow split packets. Then the user has the option to save the results to a file for use another day once the test is completed.
