The Autosol Communication Manager® (ACM) works with the PCS Plunger Lift Modbus protocol to bring your company your most vital information from the field of industrial automation and beyond. In a world of ever-changing SCADA and ICS systems, ACM is designed to ensure that your legacy systems continue to serve your company’s needs.

How it works

The PCS Plunger Lift Modbus Protocol generally works with Plunger Lift/Pump-off Controllers in some of the most remote locations. ACM will retrieve data from the PCS Plunger Lift using the Modbus Protocol and deliver it back to the control room or corporate office for analysis — as ACM is an OPC server. The PCS Plunger Lift System’s™ software delivers monitored information, delivering historical and current data about tubing and casing pressures. shut-in and sales times, plunger arrival and flow rate, according to its site.

ACM works to ensure that the operators are able to determine “the time needed for the plunger to reach the bottom and/or the pressure needed for the plunger to lift the liquids to the surface” by securely and reliably communicating with the PCS Plunger Lift device, according to information from its site.

Autosol Communications Manager (ACM) extends companies’ SCADA systems abilities

For over 30 years, AUTOSOL (Automation Solutions) has been building custom drivers to ensure the efficient and reliable transfer of commands, programs, data and information between control systems and endpoint SCADA devices like RTUs and PLCs. ACM speaks to devices in their native protocols, making it easy to add devices, including PCS Plunger Lift, to a SCADA system and ensuring information is consistently being transferred.

Because ACM isn’t dedicated to one specific protocol, it is able to interact with  PCS Plunger Lift devices as well as many others. Companies will reap the benefits the PCS Plunger Lift offers while saving costs associated with having to update an entire SCADA system to use devices that all speak the same protocol.

Combining the flexibility of AUTOSOL’s ACM and custom drivers means companies are not obligated to construct and update a SCADA system with one brand and its protocols. As a leader in the industry, AUTOSOL takes communication between devices seriously.

ACM is FIPS 140-2 Security Level 1 validated using AUTOSOL SSL encryption
