AUTOSOL + Ignition by Inductive Automation:
Better Together for Oil & Gas

INDUSTRIES SERVED

Built for Ignition SCADA Deployments in Oil & Gas

Ignition thrives in modern, IP-connected plant environments. But oil & gas and LDC infrastructure is different. Decades of legacy field devices, proprietary RTU protocols, custody transfer flow computers, and remote sites operating on unreliable communications links. That is the world AUTOSOL was built for, and where we extend what Ignition can reach.

Native protocol depth

Bristol BSAP, ABB Totalflow, Emerson ROC/FloBoss, Allen Bradley ControlLogix, Honeywell Mercury, Dresser Romet, and more, spoken natively, not wrapped in a converter.

Store-and-forward

Remote sites with unreliable links never lose data. AUTOSOL buffers locally and delivers to Ignition upon reconnection.

EFM & custody transfer

Collect hourly records, daily totals, alarms, events, and trend data from flow computers, data Ignition cannot retrieve on its own.

OPC & MQTT delivery

ACM and eACM surfaces collected data as OPC UA or MQTT Sparkplug B, exactly the interfaces Ignition natively consumes. Clean handoff, no custom scripting.

PRODUCTS

ACM and eACM: the protocol bridge for Ignition

AUTOSOL Communication Manager®

A centralized, multi-protocol OPC server and polling engine. ACM communicates with field devices in their native protocols, collects real-time and historical EFM data, and delivers it to Ignition via OPC-DA, OPC-UA, or MQTT.

  • 50+ native protocols including BSAP, Totalflow, ROC/FloBoss, AB CIP & DF1, Enron Modbus, Mercury, and more
  • Full EFM history hourly records, daily totals, alarms, events, trend data
  • Store-and-forward for remote and low-bandwidth sites
  • OPC-UA and MQTT Sparkplug B output, native to Ignition

AUTOSOL Edge ACM™

An edge-deployed polling engine that moves native protocol collection to the field closer to the device. Ideal for remote sites, IIoT-first architectures, and deployments using Ignition Edge.

  • Deploys on edge hardware at remote or field sites
  • Publishes via MQTT Sparkplug B to Ignition or any compatible broker
  • Pairs with ACM for EFM collection and OPC-based environments
  • Purpose-built for bandwidth-constrained telemetry networks
